Coronavirus disease is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person.  The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.

On March 11, 2020, the leadership team prepared for all possibilities regarding the spread of the virus. A sense of measures was initiated to safeguard the residents, staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. BTH closed its campus to the public to accommodate the women that included virtual meetings, therapeutic outdoor activities, i.e., exercises, gardening, scavenger hunt, outdoor grilling to name a few.  Since it is unknown when the campus will allow the women to return to their normal routine, off-campus activities are suspended and the doors at BTH remain closed to the public until further notice.  As a result of the BTH shut down, due to COVID-19, the staff provided physical outdoor activities to break the monotony of the scheduled group settings.
